Our Team

All Superair staff are highly trained and offer professional prompt service for the aerial agricultural and aircraft maintenance industries.

The pilots of Superair have a combined total in excess of 50,000 flying hours with 90% of those hours gained in the aerial agriculture sector. They are all experienced and specialists in agricultural flying as well as low level survey operations. 

Our maintenance and support crews are second to none - all part of the Superair Team.

David Boundy

David has been with Superair for over 40 years.

David commenced at Superair as an apprentice aircraft engineer in 1980 and moved through the positions of Engineer, Chief Engineer and Agriculture pilot to his present position as Manager/CEO. David has experienced all aspects of the Superair operation and his involvement has great benefits for the company and customers.

Carol Hargrave

- Office Manager/Administration

Carol started with Superair in 1986 and has since been with the company for over 35 years, Carol is an extremely invaluable part of our team.

Carol is not only the office manager but handles all aspects of administration for the entire organisation. From financial administration, payroll, to compliance.

Carol’s favourite thing about working for Superair is the freedom to choose what she does day to day, and the flexible working hours.

Phil Martin

- Chief Pilot/Glen Innes Base Manager

Phil has over 34 years of experience with Superair, from starting back in 1988. He holds a Commercial Pilots Licence and Agricultural Rating. Phil has over 23000 hours experience with most of that in the New England region.

Phil manages and upholds the safety culture standard within Superair, as well as organising work, liaising with clients and working closely with the other pilots across the Superair bases.

Phil’s favourite thing about working for Superair is the fact that even though he is working for a company, he is his own boss and has the freedom to call his own shots.

Chris Bennett

- Aerial Application Pilot

Chris has been with Superair for over 7 years and is our Scone based agricultural pilot.

Chris does aerial top-dressing, survey flying and maintains and manages the base in Scone. He works to get the product to the airstrip and ensures his clients are satisfied.

Chris’ favourite thing about Superair is the safety culture it upholds, as well as the fact everyone works together and gets along.

Wayne Memphis

- Engine Shop Manager & Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer

Sadly in August 2023 we lost Wayne - With 45 years experience in Aviation of which 25 has been at Superair, Wayne was highly respected in the industry for his piston engine and component overhauls and repairs, as well as his in depth knowledge of engines and fuel systems. His knowledge and experience will be missed industry wide and Superair will miss a dear friend.

Paul Giles

- Chief Engineer

Paul has been with Superair for over 15 years and is our Chief Engineer. Paul’s roles include managing staff and allocating work, ensuring the parts and equipment are on hand. Keeping everything moving in the workshop. In addition updating maintenance records and keeping on top of the many administration tasks required.

Paul’s favourite thing about working at Superair is working within the team environment, helping to manage that team and the challenge to solve tasks at hand.

Nathan Hewitt

- Workshop Foreman / Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer

Nathan started his apprenticeship as an aircraft engineer in 2012 and after doing his CASA exams, he became licensed in 2018. He has since been with Superair for over 10 years.

Nathan has a number of responsibilities within the company and primarily carries out both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on fixed wing aircraft. He is on hand to supervise staff and ensure the work flows smoothly.

Matt Tasik

- Aircraft Maintenance Engineer

Matt has been working at Superair for 7 years. Matt does anything and everything he is asked to around the shop, which includes mainly aircraft and hangar maintenance as well as vehicle maintenance and servicing.

Matt carries out Aeroclear window refurbishing for airlines and charter aircraft both in our facility and onsite at airline facilities

Matt’s favourite thing about Superair is the variety of work, as it’s never the same.

John Chaffey

- Loader Driver

John has been with Superair for over 25 years and is our Glen Innes / Guyra based loader driver.

His main jobs include travelling to agricultural airstrips to load the aircraft, while also helping out with the Armidale hangar.

John describes Superair as one of the best places he’s ever worked, the people and the atmosphere make it what it is.

Ben Isaac

- Loader Driver

Ben is our Hunter Valley based loader driver and has been with Superair for over 7 years.

His main day to day responsibilities are loading fertiliser into the aircraft, controlling the safety of the agricultural airstrip worksite, as well as servicing and maintaining the loaders.

His favourite aspect of working for Superair is working outdoors everyday, the opportunities to experience different locations and travelling around the countryside.

David Crosby

- Aircraft Maintenance Engineer

 

David started with Superair in 2021 his broad range of skills is invaluable to the regular maintenance we carry out in all aspects of our business

David controls all our heavy vehicle maintenance and compliance and is our aviation fuel facility controller.

Jordon Evans

- Aircraft Maintenance Engineer

 

Jordon joined us in 2022 with a keen interest in aviation and engineering.

Jordon is currently undertaking additional training to reach a diploma level at TAFE on his progression towards becoming a LAME

Richie Rekunow

- Truck Engineer

Richie has been with Superair for over 10 years now and is a vehicle maintenance engineer, as well as an aircraft loader driver and has seen a lot of the country through his work.

Working closely with other staff he has updated the 1985 loader trucks to a current purpose built fleet, that are much more ergonomic and functional.

His favourite thing about Superair is the great environment and loves that “getting out in the field loading!”

Joel Croft

- Apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Engineer

 

Joel has joined the Superair team as an apprentice engineer. He is looking forward to adding new skills through TAFE and in hangar training.
